Good Day For A Guinness

Phil and I went to Dublin for a long weekend at the end of April. The main goal was to see one of our favorite bands, "The Fray" on Tuesday night, but we decided to go the weekend before and check out the city. Phil had already been there a couple of times, but this was my first time to Ireland. We were lucky enough to find some good hotel deals so we stayed right in the Temple Bar area.

South of Dublin in Bray, we found a peaceful, sunny rock beach and enjoyed the scenery



Next we headed north to Howth to check out the harbor

The weather in Howth was beautiful and sunny to start and then turned stormy. We were planning to take a hike around the island until the storm blew in.


We also went to check out the Kilmainham Gaol a former prison that played a big role in Irish history. The tour was really neat and the prison itself was very interesting. The prison has appeared in over 80 movies.

The yard outside where they executed the leaders of the Irish Revolution. It was also called the "stonebreakers yard" where they made the prisoners do hard labor in complete silence.
